Kate Hare's preoccupation with theater was passed down genetically by a beautiful line of compulsive actors and goofballs. A New York native and lifelong performer, she has appeared on stage across the city and the Northeast in contemporary and classical plays with an emphasis on Shakespeare's works. Theater credits include The Life and Death of Queen Margaret, The Lion & The Clown (Real Live Theatre), Romeo and Juliet, The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Hampshire Shakespeare Company), The Emily Project (TheatreTruck), The Reason for Play (The Secret Theatre), My California (The Drama League).
She has also performed solo works at The Wild Project, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and others. She has appeared in several short films, and made her film directing debut with the horror comedy BFFs4EVA.
She received her MFA in Acting from The New School for Drama where she studied with Caymichael Patten, Scott Whitehurst, Patrice Johnson Chevannes, and Andrea Haring. She trained in devised theater techniques with Tectonic Theater Project, Frantic Assembly, Elevator Repair Service, Dael Orlandersmith, and Dmitry Krymov, and studied voice and speech at The Linklater Center for Voice and Language.
